ENERGY PSYCHOLOGY - EP
Energy Psychology such as Kinesiology & EFT brings therapy that would normally take years or months down to hours or minutes! Arthur Bablis
Energy is the blueprint, the infrastructure, the invisible foundation for the health of your body. Your body is composed of energy pathways and energy centres that are in a dynamic interplay with your cells, organs, moods, and thoughts. If you can shift these energies you can shift your health, emotions, and state of mind... What would that mean for you? Imagine that now..
WHAT IS EP?
Energy psychology (EP) is a family of integrative approaches to psychotherapy, coaching and healthcare treatment rooted in mind-body healing traditions that are up to 5,000 years old. Embracing what modern physicists and ancient wisdom traditions know, energy psychology acknowledges the role of bio-energetic systems within and between people as important determinants of health and well-being, illness and pathology.
The theory suggests that psychological problems are a reflection of disturbed bio-energetic patterns within the mind-body system - a system that involves complex communication between a person’s neurobiology and their cognitive-behavioral-emotional patterns. EP methods blend the bio-energetic insights of these traditions with the best of contemporary psychological practice, and have been refined through 35 years of modern clinical experience with millions of clients throughout the world. Energy psychology gently and swiftly release traumatic events that are frozen in time in the body-mind system. These events can negatively influence how a person sees the world, experiences and regulates emotion and relates to other people.
HOW DOES EP WORK?
Energy psychology practitioners combine cognitive interventions (including focused awareness and mindfulness, imagined exposure to traumatic memories and cognitive reframing) simultaneously with the stimulation of one or more of the human bio-energy systems such as meridians, chakras & bio-fields (also called auras). While our psychological functioning is affected by cognitive, hormonal, neurochemical, and environmental factors, at a fundamental level bioenergy also accounts for emotions and behaviour.
In Energy Psychology, the problem is assessed, diagnosed, and treated as an energy-based problem.
One of the pioneers in Energy Psychology is David Feinstein, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist who has taught at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. David Feinstein describes Energy Psychology this way: "Like the oriental medicine traditions to which it traces, the theoretical core of energy psychology is simply this: Whatever the presenting problem, it has a counterpart in the client's energy system and can be treated at that level." Furthermore he states “When your energy is balanced and runs clear, your emotional distress disappears”.
From the point of view of Energy Psychology, painful physical, emotional and spiritual symptoms are the result of a disruption in the energy system. When the disruption is corrected, symptoms will be replaced by healthy functioning. For instance, a phobic response to spiders would be replaced by a calm response to spiders. All aspects of the phobic response would be normalized. Therefore, physical sensations of distress (such as tense muscles, racing heart, lumps in the throat or sensations in the pit of the stomach) are alleviated. Disturbed thought processes (such as distorted perceptions and catastrophic expectations) are normalized. Negative emotions (fear, panic, anger, helplessness, confusion, etc.) are replaced by inner peace. Unhelpful behavioral tendencies (flight or fight or freeze responses, for example) are corrected.
EP techniques enable the body's natural healing system to achieve lasting emotional, mental, and physical changes. Healing is accomplished with a simplicity and speed that astounds both clients and practitioners. This new technology provides rapid relief from phobias, addictive cravings, disruptive emotions, physical symptoms, and trauma. It is compatible with other psychotherapies, and clients are able to use most of these skills on their own with great success. Clinicians serve as guides to help the client identify the source of discomfort and apply the technique.
Energy psychology is applicable to a wide range of areas including psychotherapy, education, vocational guidance, physical health, sports and peak performance. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Specialized Kinesiology are amongst the most widely known energy therapies.
Experts in the field are reporting success rates of 80% to 100%. Symptoms are replaced by feelings of calm and wellbeing. Symptom relief, muscle testing, and life experience verify the success this new discipline is achieving to help people change and heal.
